ABOUT US

what is TLF Connect?

TLF Connect is a virtual mentoring program connecting future-focused students with leaders in legal innovation.

In a nutshell:

  • Free one-on-one, online mentoring sessions with a leader in legal innovation.

  • Career advice about new and emerging opportunities in the legal industry.

  • Access to a community of people who are challenging the status quo and ‘doing law differently.’

In Round One and Two of TLF Connect, we created a community of over 170 mentors and mentees from across Australia, as well as the U.S, Singapore and South Africa. We can’t wait to meet the next cohort of mentors and mentees.

WHY TLF connect?

TLF Connect is a little bit different to other mentoring programs..

  • We give young people the tools, connections and confidents to become change-makers in the legal industry. Our mentees are not just spectators - they actively create valuable change in the legal industry.

  • The learnings goes both ways - our mentors and mentees have a curious mindset, and are open to learning about each other’s thoughts, ideas and experiences.

  • We are building a community where people can share their ‘aha!’ moments. If you have a fire in your belly or you’re excited to learn something new, we want you to share it!

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

  • The program will kick off on the second week of September and will run for three months.

  • At a minimum, we ask mentors and mentees to meet up once a month.

  • During the program, mentors and mentees will be provided access to ‘tool kits’ to set goals and create a productive and engaging relationship.

What we do:

  • Match mentees with mentors based on their goals desired learning outcomes

  • Give you tips and guidance about how to make the most of the program.

  • Host regular networking and meet-up events during the program.

What you do:

  • Find an appropriate time and place to meet.

  • Provide the driving force for the relationship - it’s important to set clear goals and expectations.

  • Share your new learnings with other members of TLF Connect - we strongly encourage everyone to share what they have learned during their mentoring session
