My Experience as a Mentee in the TLF Connect Program

I discovered The Legal Forecast, or TLF, early on in my degree. Since then, the TLF community has continually motivated me to ‘disrupt’ what I thought I knew about the law, and strive to use an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset in my career.

TLF has continued to provide a multitude of inspiring networking and career opportunities, such as the Connect Mentor Program. I found this, personally, to be the perfect opportunity for me to continue that disruption and push myself out of my comfort zone. The program allows you to network with new people and be presented with a wealth of great ideas and resources, all while being supported and nurtured by the TLF Connectors network.

I was very lucky to be paired with the wonderful Zinta Harris. Her bubbly and creative nature, excellence in her field, and vast life experience made her the perfect mentor. Zinta and I had three fantastic virtual meetups over the duration of the program. Zinta refreshed my thinking, helping me develop a strong career plan and sense of purpose. She introduced me to new resources and set monthly tasks so that I could develop the skills and experience I needed to take on a passion project, expand my network, and understand how to remain true to myself.

I learnt a great deal all in the short space of three months, and I have Zinta and the team at TLF to thank for that. I highly recommend anyone looking to make connections, receive some guidance, or be apart of an innovative and inspiring network to join. It’s completely free and provides a very unique opportunity to connect with likeminded people.

Thank you so much to the team at TLF, especially Cristabel Gekas, for running the program! I hope all the Connectors had a great experience, and found some inspiration to go out there dream big!
